Rugby Magners League The Final
The final of a thrilling 2011 Aviva Premiership season takes place at a sell out Twickenham on May 28th between Leicester and Saracens. Whilst two very contrasting teams, both have been the stand out performers throughout the season and fully deserve their places in the final. Leicester’s semi final victory over Northampton was marred by the scathing attack from Manu Tuilagi on Chris Ashton at the weekend which saw Leicester eventually run out 11-3 winners in a scrappy affair at Welford road. The punches thrown at Ashton by Tuilagi may see him banned for the final after a disciplinary panel is likely to take action.
The Tigers find themselves in their seventh successive Premiership final and are unbeaten in their last three outings at Twickenham. The 2011 final will be a repeat of last year’s final where, once again, Leicester came out on top over a much improved Saracens team of recent years. Their dominance in the Premiership is there for all to see and with the strength and depth that they posses both in their backs and forwards, will prove extremely difficult for Saracens to break down.
